Podcast: Talking Main Street With Stepheny – Looking For The Sound of Music

I’ve been looking for music to add to the Podcast, Talking Main Street with Stepheny if I can ever get going again. I’m getting no where because I keep listening to favorites that don’t lend themselves to Preservation, Restoration and Repurposing. It is ‘Stepheny’s Music.’ Instead of hymns, when I cross the River Jordan, sing my playlist. If you are in the mood, listen to a bit of this music and enjoy.

Skylark (Aretha Franklin) https://youtu.be/jHYDafTrpMU?si=38WF54UN8fOKmcaF

Of course there is Petula Clark’s ‘Downtown’ but it isn’t me. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment below. Thanks.

  1. Hey Stephanie,
The Imperial Center is partnering with NC Wesleyan University to present my play, You Wouldn’t Expect, Feb 1-4 at The Powers Auditorium at NCWU. This play recounts the experiences of some of the almost 8,000 North Carolinians sterilized under the NC Eugenics Program.
Hope you can make one of the performances!

  2. Stephany,

I believe the soundtrack of a town is as diverse and personal as the buildings and the stewards that fine tune these glorious instruments. The center of any good party is its DJ (the Ricky Mount city counsel) so just keep whistling Dixie and I hope the DJ can hit the right tunes.

  3. I have a lot of old albums at my office on Main Street. You are welcome to look through them to see if anything is appropriate for your needs. Don 252-903-1307
