The America I Do Not Want Us to Lose

I was a lucky little girl to grow up in the America I knew.

Decorated bicycles on the Fourth of July, pride in our flag, and a belief that being an American was something special.

I have been thinking about that little girl today, and about the country that has shaped my life.

Must we diminish what America has accomplished in order to acknowledge where she has fallen short?

My newest Main Street blog is a personal reflection on what we have gained, what we have learned, and what I hope we will never lose.
