Stepheny From Main Street: Proud To Be An American

In the wake of the successful U.S. strike on Iran’s weapons facilities, an operation requiring precision, intelligence, and courage, the American military and its Commander-in-Chief deserve credit, not contempt.

I write to express my pride in the action that addressed the nuclear threat to the United States, and in the Middle East. As usual the familiar chorus of Democratic voices didn’t responded with measured patriotism, but with reflexive cynicism, dismissing the achievement, questioning motives, and offering no vision of strength or unity.

It’s a tired script: politics before country, grievance over gratitude. This is not a moment for partisan groaning, it’s a moment to stand tall as Americans. The usual suspects that blather on are like the drip-drip of water from a faucet. Of course, the more they talk, the more it proves how little they have to say.

Whatever critics claim, it was Donald J. Trump who restored a posture of strength in U.S. foreign policy, drawing red lines and meaning them. Under his leadership, deterrence wasn’t theoretical; it was operational.

His doctrine made clear that America would protect its interests, stand by its allies, and act decisively when provoked. This latest operation is part of that legacy: strength with clarity, action with purpose. The results speak louder than the pundits ever could.

We don’t get to choose the times we live in, but we do get to choose how we respond. I choose to remember that strength, when guided by principle, preserves peace. And that moments like these, when America acts with resolve, remind us what it means to be a nation worth defending.
