Designed by the legendary golf architect Bob Toski and constructed in the 1970s, Northgreen Country Club honors the traditions of its predecessors in North Carolina golf. Once the most favored championship course in ACC college history, this course has hosted some of the biggest names in the sport. -Northgreen Web Page

Now open to the public and under new ownership, Stanley Campbell from Florida, has taken this neglected jewel into his hands, focusing on the preservation and restoration of a significant asset. Sometimes the stars align, and the newest star in Rocky Mount’s heaven is Mr. Stanley Campbell. Thank you!

Meet the Team

Tanya Chinnery, Restaurant Manager (on the left), and Linda Wiley, Kitchen Manager, are key figures in bringing the 19th Hole back into the spotlight as a ‘go-to’ place. Friendly and energetic, Tanya gave us a quick tour and a wonderful welcome. The menu offers what I think of as pub food. My big hamburger with shiitake mushrooms and Swiss cheese was perfectly cooked, and important, the sweet tea passed the Stepheny tea test. Everyone at the table enjoyed their choices. Linda’s kitchen is off to a good start as they fine-tune operations after the first week of being open.

Jason, the Bar Manager, will be your new friend, and he and Tanya make a great team.

19th Hole Hours of Operation

Wednesday 11:00 -8:00 Thursday 11:00 -8:00 Friday 11:00-9:00 Saturday 11:00-9:00

Sunday Brunch

Every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, enjoy a changing menu, but there is always an Omelet station.. No reservations are needed. The regular menu is available as well. Price for brunch – $20.00 including beverages, $10.00 for children, and $12.00 for unlimited Formosa’s.

Tanya shared, “I want everyone to be safe and comfortable.” The parking lot has lights, and there are several surprises in the club to discover. It’s a casual setting, perfect for a business meeting, courting a new client, a book club and lunch, an organizations meeting. No one will feel like they can’t afford the 19th Hole as part of the outing. The Country Club can comfortably seat 300 people. I love that you can have a meal without selling the farm. The friendly, relaxed and yet ‘grown up’ atmosphere, with a golfing backdrop is a winner for me. Upcoming pickle ball courts are replacing the pool and tennis courts are already in place. While playing golf may all your drives be right down the center of the fairway.

After a nice evening with a great hamburger, fries and tea, family and friends, I thought of a song. Do you remember, ‘Something Good’ from the Sound of Music? Rocky Mount has surely done something good to have Stanley Campbell invest in the place we call home and giving Northgreen CC new life and the community a restored gem.

Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Hope to see you at The 19th Hole Restaurant

    1. Hi there: There is no problem just stopping by and going in. I haven’t checked the hours they are open as I write you, but showing up is how friends and I had our first lunch there. AND, they did show us around. Hop in your car, take a friend, and go exploring. Have fun!
