Do you recall a joke, Two Boats and a Helicopter, from younger days? It is about the man on the roof waiting to be rescued? The man refuses several rescue attempts from the approaching floodwaters. He tells each of the rescuers, “God will save me.”
Having turned down the last attempt, he drowns in the flood. At the pearly gates the man meets God and asks him why he didn’t save him? God responds, “I sent two boats and a helicopter.”

I consider the report on February 9, ’24, issued by the Special Council like one of the ‘boats’ in the joke. You may be relieved that Biden is not going to be charged with mishandling classified documents. The explanation that has pinned the tail on the donkey is the report went on to explain Biden wouldn’t be fit to stand a trial.
There is this interpretation of Hur’s report. “A man too incapable of being held accountable for mishandling classified information is certainly unfit for the Oval Office,” members of House GOP leadership, including Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), said in a statement. “If you’re too senile to stand trial, then you’re too senile to be president. Joe Biden is unfit to lead this nation,” Alex Pfeiffer. (These comments appeared in The Hill, article written by Brett Samuels and Rebecca Beitsch) This logic makes sense to me.
The Democrat leadership has spent all their time trying to destroy Trump. There has been no apparent attempt to develop new Democrat leadership. The nightmare of a Kamala Harris or a California Newsom, or the mere mention of Michelle Obama, prove my point. This is why I consider Hur’s report a rescue attempt. It states plainly why this President can not continue; Biden’s memory is “significantly limited.” It’s more than that. We have all watched the President’s decline. We now have verification beyond Fox News of an 81-year-old president whose age and mental acuity are a central issue in Biden’s reelection campaign. (acuity already an over-used word)

A favorite Stepheny movie is The American President. Michael Douglas plays President Andrew Shepherd. He says, “We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them.” Though this is a line from a film, it is applicable to America today. Biden and Harris are the face of the problem but democrats losing power is the issue.
We see for ourselves the daily decline of an older man who is the President. The Democrats have shot themselves in the foot with no one else to offer. Come November what is the country to do? We must have a President that can save us from the trajectory the country is on, and from the peril we are in. A fact: before the report we have 85% polled who think Biden is mentally unfit an can not continue because of his age and mental state.
Main Street Blog readers, we are living one of the most important American pieces of history that will be talked and written about into the future. This is not the time to ‘hate politics’ and refuse to get your heads in gear over the dilemma this election presents. My opinion is Biden won’t be the nominee after the convention and what are we to do with are thoughts and feelings about Trump? You know we all have said many times, “Shut the hell up.” I could have hit him upside the head when he talked about Nikki Haley’s dress rather than focusing on accomplishments that have been under played by the liberal media and those who want to maintain their power. He has a provable record. Trump reminds me of the saying about loving someone when you can’t live with them and you can’t live without them.
Like the man on the roof in the midst of rising flood waters. we need God to save us so America can be saved by the election results.

President Trump is the right man for the tough job ahead. Without doubt he will fix the mess Biden and his gang have made of America. I, along with thousands of Americans, want him back in office.

I heartily agree with rbsharer. Biden is not perfect, but I’ll support his long years of experience and respect of the Constitution, democratic principles, human dignity, and essential relationships with our global partners.
Trump is the epitome of everything my parents raised me NOT to be. He and his cronies’ actions and words bring to mind the rise of the Nazis. His hateful speech, disrespect, and disregard for humanity and the rule of law make him unfit for the presidency or any type of office.

I can’t hardly type this comment b/c I can never stand for a man like 45. There are many reasons why but this one here NEVER leaves my mind! NEVER…just like many can’t rid themselves of the age and weariness of the President: “According to the aide, when the group came to discussing immigration from Africa, Trump asked why America would want immigrants from “all these shithole countries” and that the U.S. should have more people coming in from places like Norway.”–https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-referred-haiti-african-countries-shithole-nations-n836946
(Maybe the indigenous thought the same before they were colonized.)
The article later goes on to state that he was frustrated about the lottery/visa system. It’s ok, we all get frustrated at the way things are run/handled and say things we shouldn’t. But not all of what we say is publicized and we are not all at the top level as he once was.
I am a descendant (I know, many are saying, “Here we go again!”–so what.) of those from his so-called “shithole countries”. And so, by the way is my cousin who just graduated with her JD degree, a late cousin who was called “Dr.” Williams because he’s earned it. My pastor who is called “Dr. Reverend…”, my grandfather who was a carpenter and his grandfather a schoolteacher after being born into slavery times. My sister who was the first in our immediate family to own her hair salon for years and it is a very lucrative business! How about the many of my ancestors who served for this country! There are more, but I’ll end it here: my living cousin (over 100 years old now) who has moved himself though the crushes of life around the very same sentiment, was so appreciated, his name is represented on a building at a University in this state! Yeah, the very same people from 45s shitholes.
And how is it that I hear frequently that southerners don’t like northerners (still with that nonsense) but laud over 45! Ugh…what’s good for today may not be for tomorrow. I always say, there’s something that lies deeper than what we can see.
