This Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 6:30 PM, you are invited to Preservation Rocky Mount’s annual meeting at Historic Stonewall Manor, to tour the house, meet and greet, and hear about the evolving organization plans for the coming year. (The membership will be electing new board members.) You’ve heard about PRM, been involved in past years, or have attended a program. Perhaps you are a closet preservationist and are now able to get involved.

It is a critical time in the revitalization of Rocky Mount to add your voice to decisions being made on the City Council that need over-seeing. In this past year PRM, with new leadership, is rising out of the ashes of Covid and reinventing themselves to meet the needs for a stronger preservation presence in the community. Images speak louder than words. I want you to carefully look at the gallery of photos that demonstrate preservation and restoration of residential architecture. We must preserve the stories of Rocky Mount’s structures, the people they have sheltered, the economic driver preservation becomes. The various housing proposals need all of us to come together in order to become a significant factor in good decisions and best practices. Come and see how you can help with the puzzle pieces of revitalization that honors the past while building a future in this place we call home.
