You know who deserves a big hug today? Come with me through the doors of Davis furniture located in Historic Downtown Rocky Mount.

Waiting for us is Melanie Davis, Manager, of this family business and her wonderful staff. The Davis Furniture building is a ‘rock star’ sitting on the corner of Main and Western.

Large display windows wrap around the building,. The interior pays tribute to the historic architecture of Rocky Mount.

Through thick and thin, Davis Furniture has remained dedicated to downtown Rocky Mount and its revitalization.

Here is the latest proof of their investment in Main Street. A facial has left the facade next door – in the famous words of Billy Crystal – “looking marvelous, darling.”

Melanie sent me these photos. I teared up with the results of this repair. Let’s take this as a reminder: preservation looks like a fresh facade, a quiet investment, and a family business that keeps showing up.
