Last Moments Are Powerful

FL. -Houston tonight.

I’m having a picnic on my lap with a delicious Subway chicken something or other, chips and sweet tea; I haven’t begun to recover from Duke’s loss. Knowing that these young men, this team have had their last moments together, our last moments – in the vernacular of a younger generation – sucks.
Normally I would like Houston to win so I could console myself with “the Champion beat us.” But the FL.coach of three years is this new era of coaching like Duke’s Jon Snyder. I love it.

Last moments are powerful. The grandchild that runs back to you for one last hug and kiss. That hug when parting after lunch, the setting down of the phone after talking across the miles. A basketball season coming to its end. I am left with the certainty that a group of Duke’s players, 2024-25 are now brothers and for a lifetime they will remember.
