A fun reunion with Jeannie’s brother, Tom Bowden, who picked the restaurant. “Stepheny will want to eat downtown.” There are so many good restaurants in Goldsboro, you could eat lunch out everyday and only scratch the surface. 2:30 PM Say goodbye to Tom and begin driving tour of residential neighborhoods with a canopy of trees overhead. The architecture, home after home, street after street, of beautiful neighborhoods. They have a Park Avenue street that should not be missed. It took us to Hanover Park. Having only visited downtown, I had no idea the residential areas are filled with homes that had me calling over and over, “Look at this one!”
I recommend a Stepheny kind of day. Gas in the car, a sweet friend like Jeannie Armstrong, a destination like New Bern, Elizabeth City, Goldsboro, Tarboro, walking shoes, a wrap for the air conditioned luncheon spot, and a happy and grateful heart to be out and about.
