A Shout Out to Ward 1 in Rocky Mount, NC: Vote Tarrick Or Troy

In Ward 1 Councilman Knight is relentless and aggressive in his single-minded pursuit of power. A lot of Knight’s supporters are older residents but Rocky Mount politics is changing. Younger black voices have surfaced and are the new leadership today. Knight has served 20 years but it is T.J. Walker and the young people he represents that are increasingly influential. Troy Davis and Tarrick Pittman talk about the issues like poverty, housing, education, opportunity. Important issues that do not permit the re-election of Mr. Knight.

A 3-man race favors the incumbent. Not this time! Do I wish that Troy and Tarrick could determine who is in the lead and combine their efforts to unseat Knight, yes I do. But both men are called to this critical opportunity that the election brings. Each man has deep ties to the community, and knows first hand what goes on behind the scenes as they have maneuvered their careers and service to others. Each man brings their own unique personality, point of view, leadership style, and life experience. As long as one of them gets across the line, Ward 1 and Rocky Mount win.
