How can one not fall in love with Hertford, NC. Hertford is a small water town located on the Perquimans River that flows into the Albemarle Sound. Hertford was incorporated in 1758, one of the oldest towns in North Carolina. The best ice cream in town is at Woodard’s Pharmacy. I highly recommend the fresh peach or strawberry. Grammy treated five people and it cost $7.00. Featured in today’s blog is a short walkabout (because of the heat) to show you a few of the historic homes of Hertford.

This blog post is dedicated to Jeannie and Pete Armstrong who have to be the ‘bestest people’ enjoying the Hertford river scene. They certainly win the screened porch view of the river from a wonderful historic home. To know them is to love them. The same thing is true of Hertford, NC
