Building Shalom Receives a Grant for Creating Beautiful Renovated Homes – Rocky Mount, NC

Finishing off the month of June with a wonderful surprise. I received the following note.

I wish to make a grant of $200 from my Community Foundation DAF to Building Shalom, Rocky Mount, NC. This gift is NOT anonymous. It is in honor of:

Stepheny Houghtlin

Crystal Wimes-Anderson

From blight to beauty. The Franklin St. Project is complete. INTERIOR PHOTO’S coming soon. Read more about how we took a blighted home built in the 1920’s and made it into a beautiful home in the 21st century in our newsletter: http://mailchi.mp/buildingshalom/maynewsletter-9466429 #WeBuild #BlighttoBeauty

This is one of the most important groups/efforts happening in Rocky Mount. These loving people, who care to care, are going about changing a neighborhood, one house at a time. Rocky Mount owes them a tremendous thank you for making it a better place, for recognizing that ‘home’ is the heart of change for those living on streets, neglected and ignored. THE answer from BLIGHT to BEAUTY is Building Shalom. Thank you. Stepheny
